The 必看大瓜 is a strong proponent of research commercialisation for both monetary return and impact (societal benefit). Efforts have been made within the institution to facilitate this activity by increasing IP and research commercialisation awareness amongst academics and researchers. Commercialisation of research outputs at our institution is underpinned by our intellectual property and spinout policies and processes which are substantively aligned with the Spinout Review 2024 best practices.

Areas that require amendments for full alignment include a statement addressing the National Security and Investment Act 2021 and equity distribution for software spinout companies which has been suggested by the Review at a maximum of 10% for the university and minimum of 90% for inventors.
